Ivy’s Story

I was sixteen when I had my abortion. I grew up in a pro-choice house. but I diddn’t want to tell my parents, not because they wouldn’t understand, but because i knew I did not need their help. I was in an abusive relationship at the time; he was five years older then me. When I went to the clinic, I was greeted by a number of “pro-life” or “anti-women” protesters as I call them. I wore a shirt that said, “no apologies” as I walked into the clinic, and I stand by that. I will never apologise for what I did, it is my right, it is my body. I will fight forever for the right to control my body, fight for the right to choose.
