I initially learned about sex at the age of seven from reading a book called “A Boy’s Sex Life” written by a Catholic priest. (waits for laughter to subside. NO SERIOUSLY YOU CAN STOP LAUGHING NOW) Back in the seventies my little hometown in New Jersey made quite a stir in the Roman Catholic Church [...] Back in the day an anti challenged me to go into a abortion prevention center crisis pregnancy center to listen to their message. I replied that I was not their audience, which is frightened and desperate young women. But in case you’re curious as to what said frightened desperate young women might hear from those [...] When I say I don’t watch TV, it occurs to me that I should clarify my position. What I mean is that I do not watch shows on a regular basis. Sports, hell yes. It’s spring so there is baseball (and my Yankees are in first place in the American League East, woo hoo!). In [...] I learned to read when I was three and was able to read–if not understand–adult books by the time I was four (this trait runs in my family, both my mother and brother were the same). I won’t include it on the site, but it briefly revived my interest in creating a section of the site that deals with women who regret continuing their [...] It’s not often that I get taken aback by a guestbook entry, but one that was entered yesterday has, for lack of a better term, flummoxed me. I haven’t deleted it, possibly because the stupidity has stunned me like a club over the head, but at the same time I wanted to immortalize it elsewhere [...] The recent case of the 13-year-old state ward in Florida who was temporarily blocked from obtaining an abortion as well as a recent post in the guestbook brings up an issue for me that I find personally troubling–the autonomy of teenagers when it comes to choice. They follow a very predictable pattern–first they flame me for “killing babies,” then go into a recitation about how their kid (usually very trendily named) is so-and-so months old and is like OMG the best thing EVAR and [...] |
