In a world in which one hears of parents flinging children off cliffs and bridges, I cannot be convinced that abortion is wrong. Mine was twelve years ago. I was not able to take responsibility for myself. I denied I was a sexual being because I believed [...] My abortion was in 1970 in Hawaii when only Hawaii and New York allowed legal abortions, pre Roe v. Wade. I had full anesthesia. I was a junior at Oregon State University, became involved with an Abusive African American man who pressured me into sex (I thought I wanted what he wanted even though I [...] My story is typical of a woman my age; I am now in my 60s. I grew up not even knowing what abortion was, let alone that it was illegal and therefore dangerous. As a young woman, I married and gave birth to three children in four years. As much as I loved my babies, [...] I am nineteen, and just returned home from a year-long volunteering and traveling stint in various parts of the U.S. I was in a volunteering program with hundreds of other young adults, and I had an unofficial boyfriend who was also in the program.
