I was 13 years old and my parents allowed me to go and visit my sister then living in a beach town for my birthday. My sister had asked some friends over and during a very rough party I was drugged and raped by the men at this party, my sister watched and did nothing. I became pregnant on my 13th birthday. I went home and my parents never asked me what had happened to me because my sister had already told them some story and when I was taken to the doctor he told my parents I had been raped. I returned to the doctor two weeks later and he confirmed that I was pregnant. My parents arranged for me to have an abortion when they were first allowed and thank God they did. I was never forced to explain to my parents what had happened to me and never had to face anything like this again. I cannot even imagine what my life would have been like had my parents not been so understanding. Choice MUST be there for other young girls and women.
