For me, it was my senior year in high school when I got pregnant. I had started having sex with my boyfriend as a way to deal with the incredible amounts of stress that I was dealing with at the time. And being from a small town, we were scared to by condoms or anything (so our parents wouldn't find out). Miraculously, it wasn't until months later, just after graduation, that I found out I was pregnant. There was no question about whether I should have an abortion. Both of us were heading off to college. Having a child would ruin my chances for going to this college, and I didn't want that.
So I had an abortion the day after my 18th birthday. They told me it would feel like a really bad cramp, but it did not seem to hurt at all.
I don't regret it, and I'm not sorry...I'm graduating with my bachelor's degree in a month.
